Me too

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

I tried to get the wife to bite on moving to Wy. I took her there in the winter, so she would understand what the conditions are like.

Wind was pretty bad all 3 days. Fair amount of snow as well. It was the wind that she couldn’t overcome.

Me, I’d live in Wyoming in a half a second.

Put up windbreaks around your place?

I would love the fact that there are less folks there than in many cities.

My wife would hate it there.

Is the OP single???

I live outside Buffalo and whoever said it is less windy is full of schitt!
Reshingled our (new) house three times last year.
Seems 40mph+ winds have been pretty normal the past year, with multiple 60 and an 85 mph days.

thing that sucks about wyoming is the towns that are liveable are pretty few and far between.

and you gotta stay 6 months a year to maintain residency.

it's alaska south in that regards.

that said it was 70 last week and i'm 23 days of mountain biking so far this year.

yup, gotta love people that don't live here spewing that crap.

wife drive over the pass the day it hit the wyoming record.

seems like the big horns east side is a damn funnel.

same with douglas to casper. far out it's windy down there.

we only get wind from one direction here.. and it's always a warm wind so no worries.

Montana or Idaho would be better than Wyoming.

Well, I see the problem there. You should have taken her on the three days that the wind doesn't blow in Wyoming.

one problem here is that its 2022 and not 1982 .....were already overrun with refugees from California and Colorado!
the places you want to live have seen a HUGE increase in cost recently
very limited economy, better bring your job with you

Depending on where you live windbreaks might not grow. If you want a garden either a hoop house or greenhouse is needed. I have been in Wyoming 11 years and saw -42 actual temp before adding in windchill. You do not plow snow only once you do it every time the wind drifts it back. Try getting someone to work on the house can be tough. But other than that I would never leave or live anywhere else.
