This place is great. There are some really good people here and you can find someone who is genuinely well-informed and/or experienced about almost any topic. You've also got a good number who are so intellectually bereft and/or emotionally fragile that, if anyone contradicts anything they say the hurt to their poor fragile ego is such that their only response is to start hurling insults of the most crude and pointless kind. Do they not realize that when they respond to someone that way they say a whole lot more about themselves than they do about the object of their insult?

You get the ones who throw the insults and trash talk around and, if someone (like the OP) says something about it, the mental midgets immediately pile on and insinuate that their manhood is lacking because they can't take it, this is the way REAL MEN talk to one another. Well, I'll tell you what. I've been in the military, I've worked in tool rooms and machine shops, prisons, agriculture and white collar jobs. I've never seen anywhere REAL MEN talk to one another the way some of the keyboard commandos here seem to get off on doing. Anyone who would, would be seen as having something seriously wrong with them and would be gone in no time. I can only guess that some of them here are drug-addled welfare boys.

I was recently called a communist by someone on here. I don't remember the context, or who it was, but it just left me shaking my head. Aside from the fact that I'm about the furthest thing from a communist that you can imagine, it made about as much sense in the context of the discussion as it would have if he'd called me an astronaut or a postal worker.

No matter, it is what it is. There are lots of good people still here (although some pretty good ones have given up and gone.) You just have to kind of pick your way around the dog schitt when you're walking out across the lawn.
