I'd go to DC to see some picture-perfect hangings. Or even some real ugly ones, if the subject was appropriate to it. smile

The National Air and Space Museum downtown has been undergoing a two year remodel and is likely worth the visit. They are going to close to do the final work 28 March until fall though.

The other museum that is surprisingly very interesting and not visited much is the National Postal Museum - https://postalmuseum.si.edu

Although there are more options than their used to be, if downtown we often eat at https://www.ebbitt.com

My one trip to DC was in 2020.
Too many sites were closed down due to COVID porn.
The NRA museum was closed along with many other venues.
Visited the WWII memorial. Only got to drive by Arlington, but even that was impressive.
Went to Mount Vernon. Impressive.
Went to Harper's Ferry. Also very impressive.
The most impressive thing we saw was the Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville, PA.
Took a drive over to Delaware. Amazingly, I was expecting parking lots and buildings! Saw way more agricultural activity than I ever expected. 😳

Stopped after crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to have crab cakes and a soft shell crab sandwich! Good stuff Maynard!

I'd check out the zoo and the circus. One of them is at 1600 Pennsylvania ave. Don't know the address for Congress.

Still remember Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and that pool, Jefferson's memorial, we went to a couple of the surrounding deals too. Monticello and Mount Vernon.

No "Wall" there at that time, but we did see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

They were important things to an 8 year old American boy then.

Thanks, we need them to still be important to those 8 year old children for sure.

Maybe Arlington for a good cry.

Also when at Arlington, wander off into the old sections where no one else ever goes The peace and quiet are refreshing after all of the hustle and bustle of the city, and it is a great place to reflect on what Arlington stands for.

This. This sounds interesting, thank you

Had a lunch buffet & cold beer.

It’s still work seeing and gives a sense of perspective and the setting that you don’t get from seeing a press conference in the Rose Garden. The theater that Lincoln was shot in, Arlington Cemetery. Are all well with seeing. Arlington Cemetery, and the theater, and White House were my personal highlights but there’s all kind of things to see. Like Disney World for American history fans.

Vietnam Memorial is inspiring also. I think I enjoy watching the gentlemen about my Dad's age as much as looking at the Memorial itself. Just feel honored to be in their presence.

As many as you can see and have time for.
