I would like to have the full lug removed on a stainless 4" L frame I have. This is obviously more for the cool factor rather than weight reduction.

Has anyone ever had this done? Who did it and was the work satisfactory?

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I have thought about it but don't really want to take after it with my bench grinder. grin

Check with Ahlman's in Morristown, MN.

Ahlman's does great work. I send all of my shooter revolvers to them to be tuned and have the forcing cones reamed.

I had one cut back some years ago, by a local machinist from Glenwood, Scott.
His name was Craig Severin and I worked with him for years. Lived out on Hawley Road. Now deceased unfortunately.

Funny thing was, he did it at our work with their machinery. Did a great job.

No gun policy at work. We just snuck in one Saturday for the evil chore! wink

Cylinder and Slide is in Fremont Nebraska. I'm pretty sure they have mills in their shop. It would be a short drive for you. Just don't be in a hurry.
