I stopped by the gas station on my way home to refill my 100 gallon L tank. Normally I go to the co-op and use an issued fuel card that has no limit. But the co-op is $0.22 higher so I said F that and went to the Town Pump. I have to use the farm CC(Visa) at the Town Pump. It goes to $125 and shuts off. Lame. I then decide to try my personal CC(AmEx), it went to $175 and shut off. Not quite as lame. So the shut-off amount is CC dependent? For some reason I thought it was up to the gas station. Gonna have to talk to the CC company and get the limit raised up to $500. Hopefully they will, pain in the ass running the card 4 times to fill the tank... Drove home from Boise yesterday, ranged from $5.14 to $5.85 at stations we passed.. Glad we had the wife’s 4Runner.

Most people have no idea what is coming with these nutbag energy costs. Every market... every sector... The fertilizer issue is larger - IMO. The admin is saying that the fert shortage and massive price spikes is good because then farmers will switch to the old fashioned natural ways. Idiots. Millions might starve without synthetic fertilizers. It's what's allowed the world to increase yield and feed more people than ever on smaller and smaller allocations of land for agrarian use.

Fuel to make cement... crush/haul rocks, built/fix roads bridges/dams.
Smelt steel.
Fishermen that are in negative profit margins just to fish.
Farmers in negative profit margins just to farm.
Logging will shrink substantially.
Industries close... no parts... no new equipment.
Transportation... planes, trains, freight, ships... military jets/tanks.
Some very real chit is going down.

Good point... Horse chit on .GOV. If making a widget/growing a crop takes 80% effort/materials/equipment and a 20% return is realized... that is normal. That is a margin (profit). If making a widget/growing a crop takes 120% effort/materials/equipment and a negative 20% return is realized... that is collapse.
