I'm somewhat of a root beer snob. I've tried a lot of brands. Of the packaged root beer, Virgil's is by a large margin my favorite. Bulldog, IBC and Henry Weinharts are also good

Or the generic crap.
Cola. Lemon Lime. Orange......
White can, black block letters.

What ever happened to generic stuff?
I haven't seen a white and black, no name product in years.

mom told me the first burger stand in our town when she was a kid was A&W

It was about 17 miles away and they'd drive up there to get a burger and a frosted mug of root beer. It was a real treat for them.

When I moved to the gulf coast, Barqs was big down there. You got a Shrimp Po'Boy and a Barqs root beer. It was ok but I never saw the must have appeal. They also had french dressing on tables at pizza places. Apparently it was a big thing to put french dressing on pizza which I never even tried it sounded so bad.

https://therootbeerstore.com/shop/Root-Beers.htm

Here's a few more to try!
Never ordered any cause shipping is high, but would be fun to try a lot of different flavors.

You can brew you own pretty easy...

If you have kids... they love stuff like that.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Shasta is alive and well. Both local stores carry it.

We have an ice cream shop that sells bottles of Virgil's. The only bottle I tried had a very strong black licorice taste. I couldn't finish the bottle.

There's a local company Called Diamond Bear brewery that makes one called Big Rock. It is Excellent, especially if you like a root beer without much carbonation.

I assume that everyone drinks root beer that is made in the USA.

No, no it didnt suck

When you was raised on red kool aid like I was and living in a trailer park gnawing on liver-n-rice/ketchup

The Shasta was awesome
The grape and root beer 🤠

When the old man made it thru OCS and got his 2nd Lt, we moved outta the trailer park and ditched the kool aid and mayonnaise sandwiches

Now Diet Shasta, lemme tell ya, that sucked.

I’ll never forget going to A&W with my grandmother when I was a kid. Under 10 years old. Probably late 1960’s.

I’d get an “Itsaburger” and a frosty mug of root beer. Incredible!
