Way back when my son was in Cub Scouts they had a pack meeting at the local Legion. The program was on flag etiquette, and was provided by the Legionnaires. A team was folding the flag while a member explained the process. During the presentation another member arose and declared that "If they had done it like that during the war, they'd have been shot!" Lively discussion took place at this point. No real consensus was reached, but cooler heads moderated the debate with admonishments about "In front of the kids," and things of that ilk. I am not sure how much the kids took away in terms of actual flag etiquette, but they were duly impressed by the discussion.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

I don't get too hung up about whether other people follow proper flag etiquette. As long as a person feels patriotic and proud enough of the USA to fly it, I'm OK if they don't follow all the rules properly.

I won't fly the flag in honor of my enemies. So a lot of those days are off my list. So you fly a flag? Sounds so... So do you actually make a *conscious* decision to not fly half mast in those situations? (or is you reply just fun hyperbole, for the sake of the 24HCF?) Serious question. Dump the superfluous "so." Chick-speak. Like, really?

This thread was meant to be a serious discussion for those who truly cherish the Stars and Stripes.
The replies so far are telling. Youâre very âtellingâ as well. LOL . What was the bet that youâd show up the same day as the anal bleaching thread?

Fly mine 24/7 change from heavy old school material to a thinner one for winter winds to destroy. Always lit canât do half mast Once a small tear or tatter appears it goes to post office to be destroyed Flew it upside down for weeks after the inauguration Biggest peeve is a torn flag that doesnât get replaced
We might have to be neighbors, but I donât have to be neighborly. John Chisum

Well, the replies here tell the story.
Not a single response to my question about flag etiquette with substance, except rcamuglia who said his flies full mast, all the time.
At least he said he has a US flag The rest of you just went full retard on your replies and didn't even remotely address the question about flag etiquette
But alwaysotdoors posted a GIF of his wife laughing at his cock, so there is that, I guess. I fly the Stars and Stripes. I will not fly half mast for every trader, example Harry Reid. If thats doesn't answer your question, then we have nothing else to discuss!

It seems like there is some quivering lip cause that requires flags to be flown at half mast every other week. It used to be rare - it meant something. Now half the time you donât even know the reason other than generally virtue signaling.

My flagpole is not the type you can lower to half mast anyway.
