It's okay to be weird and different. The kids don't have to be bullied for it.
The Zero Tolerance policy actually protects the bullies. Before that policy came to be, the bullying was self limiting.
The kid getting picked on could stand up for himself and shut it down instead of letting the pressure build and build and build until someone snapped.

I want to do something, I want these school shootings to stop. Not being evasive, I don't have answers. But I think all of us have probably had a thought or two at some point on something that could make this better. Keeps guns out of Tranny hands, or far right crazys or whatever label you want to put on the perpetrators, doesn't matter to me, it's equal opportunity as far as I see it. As soon as you go on a forum like this and give hint of gun control, doesn't matter how big your arsenal is or how much you donate to the NRA, you're a lefty, a troll, a plant, a non christian, whatever. But I think we as gun owners we need to be part of the solution and to stick our heads in the sand and say the system is what it is, acceptable losses, is not good.

The goodness of those father figures varies to a large extent from a really OK dude to a really violent bastid.
Something besides a father figure in the home might have been a reason why those of us who had one shading toward the latter version in my previous sentence didn't take the readily available firearms to school or some other public venue to start slaughtering others.

Have there been suggestions of a sally port arrangement at schools? Seems like only one entrance and several secure (not glass) exit only doors would help. I know a sally port sort of makes it seem like a jail but it would help. And an exit door could be opened to let a shooter in if he had an ally on the inside but it would help. The best thing would be to go back to nut house mental institutions. The constitution does not say you cannot lock up a crazy. As per the 5th Amendment there just has to be due process of law which I would suppose means there needs to be a legal process based in laws written for that purpose and the right to have a judge rule on it.
All that said, nutty people doing nutty things isn't going to stop. I dealt with a crazy neighbor for 2+ decades before the sheriff finally came out and killed him. It's a wonder he didn't kill me after the first restraining order. He narrowly missed the sheriff with a load of 12 gauge buckshot. And guess what, he was 50 years old living with his mommy and she was egging him on. The sheriff killed her too.
