The BP agent had no chain of command there. The local cops had a chain of command and it appears they were waiting for the "word" to go in from someone. The BP agent just went in like he was supposed to since he did not have to go by the Uvalde P.D.s orders. That is my take on it. Like I said, my training was to team up with the first officer and go in.

KWG, there was a generally accepted policy change made in law enforcement after one of the big initial school massacres where the two boys went in with guns and killed many and the cops waited outside for a long time as kids were systematically murdered that the best policy was to immediately go after the attacker.

I guess policy has reverted back to just letting the killer run out of bullets or victims.

They sure let the killing go on for a while at the Sandy Hook massacre.

If the LEO,s were told by higher it is still unforgivable at highers level and on the ground while happening level.

I’m not going to pass judgement on the officers at Uvalde until I hear the truth about what happened. I was an LEO for 33 years, and our plan in this type of event was first man there go in immediately. If officers waited outside while children were massacred, this is inexcusable.
