Bumping this post to the top for the benefit of the “gun grabbers” or just looking for a fight? 😁

Just pointing out ignorance when it runs rampant.

Agreed. Someone needs a medication adjustment. They also need to step away from the keyboard until that happens.

The only medication involved is booze. The guy's a drunk.

I’d rather be known as a hero cop than what the rest of the cops outside are being called.

To accomplish that, you must do something that will probably put your life in danger.

Sitting a few thousand miles away, and not being in any danger, that’s easy to say...But, I have been in danger before.

Problem is many officers as well as Im sure a vast majority of these keyboard commando posters dont realize they dont actually have the fortitude to do what needs done until it actually needs to be done because this is the first time they faced such a situation in reality.

If you've never actually been in a gunfight etc you have no way of knowing how you will react, function, etc.

Every officer and civilan gun carrier likes to envision themselves as the good guy with a gun who ends the bad guy, but FEW actually train realistically to be able to do so, let alone have actual gunfight experience to know how they will perform. Id wager a vast majority couldnt function let alone hit the broadside of a barn under the stress of a real life two way gun battle. Consider the number of rounds fired by "trained" police officers vs the number of hits in alot of officer involved shootings. Now replace the officers with some civilian who only practices shooting stationary paper targets at the range from their Weaver stance. A good example was on that video of the church shooting a few years back where the fat old guy jumped up and fumbled his draw attempt and ate a load of 00 from the perp before the other church member brained the perp with a single well aimed 357 Sig round.

In no way condoning or excusing the alleged actions of the PD in this case, just injecting some real world reality.

I just had lunch with a young man yesterday, former student, 19yo, in the Army, been through jump school. Every young man seeking out combat arms is doing it for a reason.

After the fact, their sentiments often differ.

Their is a really old saying in the Army and in the other branches of the military I'm pretty sure.
Pretty sure many have heard it.
Really applies to alot of scopes of people who are in the business of public trust and defending the public and not just the military.

In the absence of orders or fugged up conflicting orders, or even when you dont know what to do in a rapidly developing or totally changing situation.
Any action is better than inaction.

99 times out of 100 you will not be wrong for doing it no matter what you were told or was planned.

Yes sir. I told my guys I will always have your back, but you have to make a decision. It doesn't matter if it was the one I would have made, just make one.

Exactly. I know what I'd do. I'd go in. Worst that could happen is that I'd die and I welcome that

Yep, you and many others would for sure. Many have done so before and without stopping to think about it, like the guy who stopped the church shooter in Texas in 2017.
