A big chain here buys crude and has it refined if they think it's worthwhile. They also speculate on the commodities. I believe they are holding prices down by selling gas they have acquired at much lower prices. Not certain why, but if they are selling gas bought 6 months ago for delivery now, they are still making bank. While damaging their competition.

$4.799 at the cheapest cash only place in town here in northern NJ. My daughter was up yesterday from the Trenton area where she says gas is around $5.25 per gallon. She works in Pennsylvania, where its even more expensive.
