Wonder how many bought into that; and if it contributed to the reputation of guys not being able to shoot the big weatherby mags well. If taken at face value, there would be no need to spend the time to learn to shoot well - anywhere on the animal would do.
With videos like that, no wonder so many .300 H&H's were violated.....
Yeah, that is a shame too. I have one in fact that was originally a 300H&H. I love the 300wby cartridge, but good ol Roy really talked that 300 up. Good thing there was no internet back then because he would have been instantly called on that schidt!! Funny thing, I've seen a couple of the old original mauser built Weatherby rifles recently. They were nice, but over a grand. May be worth it, just for the history of them, but I'm content with my pre 64 that has been rechambered...
