It was Glen Slade's Gun Clinic. I was too young to go there myself and by the time I could go the business was gone. A fellow by the name of Wayne Barnett worked there for a while, and was reasonably well known in the area. He later went out on his own and he billed himself as a "Master Gunsmith". I happened upon one of his creations sometime after 2000'. It is my understanding that he did the stock and metal work himself. Anywho, I do not shoot it much these days, but chances are my kids will have to let it follow someone else home. Mauser 98, 35 Whelen ya! GWB A Kill Artist. When I draw, I draw blood.

I remember looking up at that bear in awe at how big it was. Seemed like it stood up about 10 feet tall.

I've got an very similar mauser like that from Heym in Germany that was imported into the states as a store chain brand.
