I've been told that no one needs an "assault weapon", especially in the context of defending against a government that turns on the population, because the military (or police) have better training and weapons.

The response, or lack thereof, needs to be shown in every active shooter training school there is now.

NOBODY had command of that situation. The police were in a BAD crossfire.... If the nutjob would have entered the hallway, there would have been shot cops on both ends of the hallway.

I understand that in many cases, the active shooter kills themself. But what about those that don't and are apprehended? Why have none of them faced or received the death penalty?
