Congrats on the nice bike. My father in law used to ride Triumphs...he passed away after a long successful life 2018. I still miss him.

Turned 62 this year. Sold my dirt bike and bought a Honda Rebel 1100 with manual gearbox. Had to install forward controls as I was too cramped for any comfort with the mids. It's a pretty nice bike for under $10,000.

That’s sweet. I’ve had probably 20 bikes. I think 7 didn’t have knobbies. An Electra Glide, triumph adventurer, bmw K100, R1100RT, 75/6 and a few others.

Getting ready to retire several years ago, I decided to look for a nice run-a-round motorcycle and came across this one in Craigslist...

My first trip to triumph dealer in 2002 there was a black TBA with Union Jack flags I sat down an wrote them a check it’s still in the garage of the 5 triumphs it’s the best of the bunch Especially since it makes about 82 HP now

Can't really remember all of the bikes I have owned, at least 50. Mostly English, 8 Bonnivilles, last one was a '64 T120C. Matchless, Bsa, Moto Guzzi, Moto Morini, all of the Jap ones on and on. Current bike is a BMW K75s. Also have two '69 CT90's great little bikes. The BMW is giving me issues putting it on teh center stand, left knee is shot. Almost dropped it twice. Thinking of something lower with a side stand deployable while sitting. had one Harley 1200, but not really a fan.

Drooled over a brand new Bonneville at a bike shop in Pensacola in ‘68, but it was $1300 and all my brand new E-2 stripes could support was a used Honda 150 for $200. Got to Subic and, with a few gigs on the side, I was soon riding a Kawasaki 500 triple shipped from Atsugi where it was $800 new.
My boys in Missouri ride a lot. Usually each has 4 or 5 bikes around, one always Harleys, the other most anything, although he got an Africa twin a couple of years ago and now seldom rides anything else.
I’ve told my wife, when she thinks I’m ready for a nursing home just buy me a fast bike and take out a big life insurance policy. That 500T - was it one of their old 2 stroke bikes they used to make? Well, it wasn’t old at the time, but it would be now. It was a two-stroke, a Mach III. It was 60 hsp and weighed less than 400 pounds wet. When you cranked the throttle you wanted to have your feet dug in to the front of the pegs and be hanging on. It was quite a thing in that time and place. It carried me on some unbelievable adventures. I look back at my years there with a sense of wonder and amazement. By the time I was 25 I’d had enough excitement to last the rest of my life.

That's awesome - I saw one of those Kawi 2 strokes at a bike show once. Can only imagine what they were like on the street.

It is an utter drool fest. Kaw Triples, Water Buffaloes, RDs aplenty. The song of the 2 strokes wailing in the holler is a thing of beauty, the smell intoxicating.

The Kawasaki Z650 had two speeds - Poky and Oh My God I Am Going To Die.
I about took one off-roading coming out of a turn in Chattanooga. But my friend did warn me that they were a little "torkey".

Never rode one of those classic two strokes but I sure recall
