Got to wonder what percentage of the current high price of vehicles (as well as pretty much everything else) is the result of our dollars being worth less, therefore requires more dollars to equal what things normally would be priced at ?

What do you think?

that depends way way much on options. I am getting a base lariat, 3% below invoice price for $52k. if you get a platinum, raptor, or something it could be as much as 20k more. the asking price locally for a truck like I ordered is in the low 70's if you look in our classifieds.

And as soon as you get it.
It is a used truck and probably lose at least 5 k off it as soon as you buy it.

Better buying something used.

The old rules no longer apply. There are guys buying new trucks and selling them 6 months to a year later for more than they paid.

It's a crazy market right now. Under the old rules I have been able to drive one until it was 10 years old and get 1/2 of my money back. That and adding a little to the down payment along ith cheap interest and short term loans kept payments cheap with very little accrued interest. And never have a major repair bill.

My long term plan was to trade my 2014 for a new 2024 in a couple of years. But I'm going to have to wait and see what happens. I may drive it a little longer. The good news is that even though a new one costs more, my old one is worth more than ever too.

Most people don't really want the truth.

Super Crew 4x4 XLT, probably a green light!

And what engine would you recommend.

3.5L HO EcoBoost.

Our 2018 has that engine, and it's great.

I never drive it much, as I have my F350, but when I went to northern Kansas a few weeks ago, I took the F150 instead. 1600 miles round trip. I was impressed.

Didn't get but 18.5 mpg, but the whole trip was driving 80mph... wink

You can buy two brand new toyota hilux's for what one used ford cost in Idaho if you're buying in India.

If you think US truck buyers are anything but fools, you're wrong.

A friend sold his Tacoma last week, it was 11 months old, don't know the mileage but it was maybe due for the first oil change, he got a thou more for it than he paid but took a bath on sales tax of course (tax was 3,400 I think).
If the Dems continue on this course to drive the economy into ruins, one would think some guys will be dumping debt and payments here in another year or so. When people stop spending on fripperies and foofaraw, layoffs are right behind. Housing is already down.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Until the supply issues catch up, the amount of cars being produced will keep prices inflated.

The Ford dealer here in Podunk Georgia has a line of pick ups at the road. Nota new one on the lot and these are all priced like new ones. We are in the need of a new vehicle since the wife's Honda mini van has 300K on it and my 2010 F150 has 186K on it and only gets around 15 MPG. Can't find a new Toyota Rav4 anywhere. FJB! more over FJB's voters.

Fords and Chevys are plated with gold.
It's just not a good time to buy a truck.
The dealer lots are empty .
They can't get much of anything from the factory.
They don't have to make room for the 2023s.
Pay full boat sticker.
No deals at all ..tards are paying above sticker commiefornia.
