I have taken apart many hundreds of them and sold the lead for scrap. Still have one somewhere at home. I think that it is about 30 lbs. The lead attenuated the radiation from the small amount of Molybdenum 99 which decays to Technetium 99m which is used for diagnostic nuclear medicine exams
