Congrats!
2 granddaughters here. 4 and 1. I took the 4 year old on a little adventure yesterday and later when my wife was taking them to meet their Mom, 4 yo told the wife that I'm the "PERFECT Papa!"
So now that that pressure is off, have fun with them anyway! haha
Seriously, they are a trip. You'll have a lot of fun with that boy. If they lived closer and I wasn't so gimped up I'm sure it would be a situation I would appreciate. But he'll be well taken care of. His Mom's a dentist and his Father is a financial planner. His childhood will be big houses and upscale European cars. I could sure show him how to pull bluegill out of a farm pond with a yellow curly tail given the opportunity, however. I could also show him some slick tricks that could be done with a Bridgeport and a Hardinge lathe. But I wouldn't do that to him. Tool and Die is a bad addiction,..and it saps one's creative energy so much that they'll never be good for anything else.

Congratulation Bristoe. I became a grandfather a couple of months ago. A 10# 13oz'er.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

Congratulations Bristoe!
There are few things I treasure more than the childhood memories of spending ample time with both of my grandfathers.
They were both men of honor and substance.

Starting out half grown must be an advantage in some way. Keeping him fed might get to be a challenge after a while though! Hope he makes you proud

You will never be the same. Grandkids, particularly grandsons, change a man. Grandsons are the only part of getting old, worth getting old for. They can keep the rest of it. Congrats

Have our first coming in October. Can't wait, wife is on an all out spending spree! I was thinking I should take the new arrival a gift. I asked my wife about it. She suggested a silver cup and spoon. I was considering a chainsaw.
