How'd you get him to hang so straight, lol...... Even dead ones keep squirming around for awhile.. Nice timber, they do seem much less aggressive but I still don't trust 'em at all..

Aren't eastern diamondbacks protected there?

Coincidentally, just yesterday I loaded some snake loads with #10 and #12 shot for my 45 Colts and 44 Mag.

We've got a lot of vipers happening around here this year fwiw. Have had to relocate a couple of cotton mouths this summer. It's been kind of strange.

I went and got all my dogs vaccinated just incase.

Only relocating I do with cottonmouths is to their final resting place.

I send all dangerous pit vipers to hell.

Just because one doesn't nail you one day doesn't mean it won't get you or a kid or a dog the next.

Like the snake which bit the lady who took it in and saved its life said, it's what snakes do. I learned long ago snakes bite.

I'm not stupid enough to give one a second chance.

I see diamondbacks often when I’m out walking the dog. She has a natural fear, and backs off and barks when she sees them. The snakes always give way. Now, we have some Mohave green rattlers around. They are just mean as hell. Shoot on sight.

Yep. Live in SW GA and we’re loaded with both EDB’s and Canebrakes. As well as copperheads and cottonmouths. For most folks here (heavy ag community) it’s just not that big a deal. More folks I know (and I’m one as well) give em a pass unless they’re in the back yard. Gators too.

Friend of ours found a 8’ gator by her back porch steps a couple of years ago. At first glance she thought it was an old log. Ha.

What surprised me is I didn't see any turtles on the move today. Usually snakes and turtles both move at the same time.

They say they are protected here, but I’ve never seen anybody protect one of them.

We have Cottonmouths, Copperheads and Timbers (Canebrakes) here in SE Virginia. I don't mind them. I trust them a lot more than I trust most folks.

I thought it was kind of cool how closely a Copperhead and Cottonmouth hang from a stick

May is mating season and the Cottonmouths gather in large numbers.

I see venomous snakes several times a week... I have not killed one in over 20 years. No need. Just leave them alone unless they are in your yard/barn etc...

I believe what you boys are calling a Canebrake, we call a Timber Rattler. I haven’t seen one in a couple years. I usually see a few Copperheads every year.
