I picked up this Savage washing machine this morning and was wondering if there is a way to date it. I know a few of you Savage nuts have one or a couple in your collections. My plan is to put a plastic barrel in it to use as a beverage cooler. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
A guy would have to find a lot of the old ads and see which ones matches that model. I think they made them at Utica clear up to the late 40's or early 50's, even after Utica stopped making guns.
Nice grab!

From the patents it looks like they made almost the same design for a lot of years, I think they have serial numbers.... so by you could probably get it within 15 years or so.....
First patent I saw was filed in 1923, the first spin dry washing machine. Some patents to compare it with, in the order they were applied for -
$94 in 1924 was a 99G + 99H plus $10 left over for a lot of ammo.

My washer is 36002 with Westinghouse 1/4 hp motor ES30986 - 3766680. I have 2 washer plaques (assume rest of machine scrapped?) with 89994 and 16298. The lower number has "Patent apllied For" in different location. Numbers 16298 and 89994 would indicate Savage made a bunch of these.
