Color me confused. I have no idea how my behavior as described in my post translates to the world coming to a grinding halt for my ass.

Now, that woman in the pink shorts, maybe.
lolololol. That particular park is interesting to ride through. The scenery is good and it makes for a fascinating study in human inattention.
The best scenery I have seen is the trail around Town Lake in Austin, not far from UT.
They should charge guys a cover just to get on it.

All we hear about is car/bicycle accident and just assume it's always the car's fault, but I bet that's far from accurate. Any stats on which get ticketed in an accident?

The statistics are skewed. On account of, very few cyclists survive to be ticketed.

80% of bicycle moving violations to Black folk does sound odd. ‘Dafugg? Theyre ticketing people for having friends riding on the handlebar?
Ticketing people for no lights? Where I live when I’m riding home after dark about half of it I don’t WANT to be seen.
Only been stopped once and that was maybe six or seven years back. Plain clothes Cop, Black guy, cool Cop car IIRC badge on cord around his neck like in the movies. I think he stopped me to see who I was. Told me I was invisible out there. I explained that was the point, that being the sort of place where they needed guys like him at night.
