Don't wanna spend an arm and a leg but I was wanting mine cleaned up and jeweled.

Yes, Skip can redo the pattern already on your bolt or he can change it altogether and do something different.

The quality of his work is much better than what comes on a factory bolt.

I worried about that myself the first time I used Baldwin…so much so that I mailed the bolts separately cause I figured chances would be better that at least they all wouldn’t get lost in the mail.
Then, Skip mailed them all back together in one box.😳😬
I felt kinda foolish after that.😁

I’ve sent him a total of 6 bolts to date(USPS Priority). Use the small, flat rate box and wrap each bolt in bubble wrap and then reinforce the box by wrapping it entirely in packing tape.

Nothing risked, nothing gained.😁

Thanks Lefty. Many times if they see it's insured the package seems to get where it's going. With flat rate they come with $50 and when it's more it catches their eye.

A number of my rifles are hard, if not impossible, to replace. I have lost what little faith I had in the various shippers over the past few years.

Been wanting to get a bolt jeweled on my old 700 BDL that I bough new around 1974. I would lose sleep until I had it back in my hands so I keep putting it off. Maybe send it registered mail or next day delivery.

It sure adds Class to a nice rifle, IMO..As a kid I tried it with a pencil eraser still in the pencil stub, chucked into my electric drill. I had a then cheap Spanish Mauser and did that bolt. It actually came out pretty nice to everyone's surprise.

The above photos in the thread make me want to have a rifle done. It's some beautiful work.
