Smoked smelt from Grandpa and Grandma is a distant memory. I picked some up in Vancouver WA from an E European deli several moons ago. Didn't try prats.
I lost my love for bone in a couple years back when I opened a cheap cheap cheap Grocery Outlet can that'd been bouncing around in the truck for several seasons. Putrid mush....
I don't do mackerel either. There is no universe in which mackerel can be considered food.

Smoked Roundheads here... and Tanner Blues.
Shark jerky in November/December.
Shrimp season starts soon. Oyster already in (but smoked/oiled oysters are nasty).

Did a bit of sampling last night…. The top two are from Costco and I feel are the best sardines on the market. Nice and firm and flavorful. I bought some of the king Oscar as so many here recommend them as top tier but man I gotta say I was very disappointed. Small fish, soft, mushy and fishy tasting I wouldn’t eat them if they were free to be honest

Ya ain’t lived until you’ve had a genuine Scottish kipper, in Inveraray Argyll yet, on the shore of Loch Fine. Fattiest, most oily fish I ever ate. Dunno where that photo is but here’s my present ration, two each week. All the way from Poland. I’ll be pi$$ed if Putin fuggs this up.

The can I am eating now has firm little fishes. Yes small but I knew that from looking at the can. They make em in larger fish sizes with less per can. Also, those others are boneless and skinless. May make a difference, dunno, never had boneless skinless minners.

10gauge you may be right on the size thing I never paid attention to that.. but size is farthest down on the list of parameters for me.
Texture and flavor were in the dumps and believe me I tried to like them

King Oscar Mediterranean Sardines are my favorite. I buy them by the case. Those look delish !
Due to the increased price of ammo, don't expect a warning shot...

My wife and daughter were shopping Sunday afternoon. My son and I needed a snack to get us to dinner. We were out of saltines so these weird triangle crackers that were in the cupboard had to do. It did the trick. Brand was Matiz. In oil with a pepper. Very good
