Very nice... a lifetime rifle.
Reminds me of something Allen Day would have built.

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Lots of hours in that build, very nice. I personally love the re-sculptured tang.

That is a spectacular rifle! I could like that much.

Got my new .270 Winchester from Gene Simillion just in time for deer season. Can't wait for it to quit raining so I can go shoot it. .270 Win - LH Model 70 24" Krieger Barrel Echols Legend Stock Simillion scope mount 3 panel bolt knob Spartan Precision quick disconnect magnetic bipod Swarovski 1.7-13.3X42 Z8i scope Test target shows .445 3 shot group 100 yards Should be adequate for deer Nice rifle. Afraid of gettin' it wet? 8>) GR

Spectacular rifle! I would also like to know your opinion on the difference between a Penrod and Simillion. I would think they are very close in build quality etc. Penrod’s bolt handle is a little more pleasing to my eye but that’s a personal preference.

Great rifle... like really great... only problem is... it would make most other rifles unnecessary and that makes me uneasy....

Not very much difference between them Scotty. Gene builds his own scope mounts, don’t think Mark does. Fit and finish are equal overall. IMO, those two and Echols are about as good as it gets. Their guns all shoot great, function perfectly and leave nothing on the table.

I’m not trying to distract from the OP, but here is a similarly treated Model 70 by Mark Penrod for comparison.

I will take either one of them if you wish to discard of them. They both make exceptional rifles but I do give the upper hand to Gene.
