Judman,

No flies on a 19 but I'd question whether you need the abbreviated grip frame.

Go big, baby.

And yes, get an optic.

Yep. Glock is as good as Glock ever was. And in that genre of pistol today there are plenty of pistols every bit as good. S&W, Sig, CZ, HK, Walther, FN and some that didn't come to mind right away.

This^^^^^^^^^^^

The G5 Glocks have a good, new, better trigger than previous models though.

I've moved to the new versions of the Smith M&P 2.0..............fit my hand better, so far with 4 of them in the house, not a single malfunction.

And you can use Glock 17 mags in a Glock 19.

Or just buy a Glock 19 X model. They come with 1-17 round mags, and 2-19 round mags.

Yes the 19X is a great configuration if you're committed to never running an optic or willing to buy another slide that is cut.

The 45 is the same but optics ready. They can be a little tough to get in some places but probably worth the effort if you don't need a sawed off grip frame.

Maybe.

It kinda depends on the full purpose of the gun. One of the big advantages to appendix carry (arguably the most popular right now) is that grip frame length is a less of a factor.

But if it's a handgun that's going to be riding in a full size holster for outdoor use, a shooter should ask why they care about sizing the gun down at all.

All things to consider.

Yes, but several hundred rounds is nothing in a Glock. Many have fewer rounds through them.

I seen blue labels as cheap as $359. If any of you qualify look into. If not Hell become a volunteer firefighter or something to get it…
