I have a Howa 300 PRC barrel and would like to get it re-bore to 9.3 x 62, I believe that is .366 dia?

How much does it cost to get a barrel rebored to a different caliber? Seems like it would be cheaper/safer to get a new barrel from Shilen, Lilja etc. built to your spec's. Just asking, because I don't know the cost delta.

I don't think you can do it.The chamber and the case head is too large. https://thebiggamehuntingblog.com/300-prc/

You can cut it back a little, but the issue you have is a 9.3x62 case has a dia. like a 30-06.The 300 PRC case dia. is much larger and the bolt face is too.So even if you rebarreled the rifle, the bolt is still made to fit the larger case. https://saami.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/300-PRC-Public-Introduction.pdfhttps://www.ballisticstudies.com/Knowledgebase/9.3x62.html

I agree... Maybe a .375 H&H instead? But I am not sure of the H&H taper? .375 RUM for sure.

JES did a .30-06 for me (1951 Remington 721). Shoots pretty well... .270 will work also. I had to Bob my barrel to get enough meat for threads and a can.
