I regarded James as one of my best friends here at the ‘Fire, met him and his lovely wife here in San Antonio on a couple of occasions.
James was the genuine article, embodied much of what was great about Texas. A sad loss indeed. RIP James, and prayers for your family.

Spoke to his Misses a few minutes ago. She remembered me from our conversations, James was a little hard of hearing, and she often help us in talking about history and our families.
They’re doing okay, but it’s a tough time.
I told her how much her husbands friendship had meant to me, as well as many of us here.
I know we’re all richer having known him.

Sad news. Boggy was one of the originals here, and a good man…… I always enjoyed his posts. He was a kind and gentle soul.

Doggone Boggy I wish I had tried harder to get down there to see ya..... Boggy was one of the originals here when the site started, along with a few of us old timers now. Always had wise words to say and nary a cross word for anyone... I told him when my daughter and her husband moved to Austin I would get down there to see him while I was visiting but time was just too short and I coudn't make it.. now I wish I had made the time somehow and my kids moved from Austin shortly after...
We had great conversations at times in emails, PMs, and occasionally on the phone.. and he always had some great stories to tell or wisdom to impart... him and Sonny used to be an interesting pair .... wish he had stuck around the fire a little longer so we could talk again.... good night old friend...

I am sorry to hear this - you and his family have my condolences. BCR must have been at the Campfire from back near the beginning, and was very kind and helpful to me in my early times here.. RIP Boggy.
