Not yet. I'm going to have 2. I figured for that price it's worth a try. Here's a YouTube video on this model. The battery tray looks like a big improvement over my Burris Fastfire 3.

Would this sight be a decent optic for a carbine-length AR15?
I don’t have one of these Sightrons so probably shouldn’t comment, but the 300 hour battery life would be an absolute dealbreaker for me. Looking at the link the weight and the fact that it has a closed emmitter sounds good.
For an A.R. 15 carbine a lot of people like the Sig Romeo fives but I have not tried one of those.
I have two of these from primary arms that have been good and come with really solid mounts

I was just looking at that deal and came here to see if anyone had opinions about it. Has anyone here who has an astigmatism ever tried one of these Sightrons? Just wondering if it's any better than others.
Just trying to get some clarity on the meaning of "300 Hour Battery Life" because I'm not accustomed to electronic sights.
What does 300 hours mean? 300 hours from when you turn it on until you turn it off? 300 hours from the moment you install the battery? Some other variant of 300 hours?

300 hours of light burn time. Depending upon application, that could be quite a long time. I am tempted to buy one to put on my Ruger PC-9. The shake awake feature means that it can sit at the ready without the light on, then when I pick it up, it's ready.

Curious what reticle it actually is, it mentions 6 and 2 moa
They offer this in two models; one with a 2 MOA dot and the other with a 6 MOA dot. The 2 MOA model was on sale, but I'm not sure about the 6 MOA since I wasn't interested in that one.
Well once again I’ve been peer pressured by the high pressure sales pitch of a simple link. 😂
I’ve been wanting to order a couple heavier recoil springs for my Glocks so this made it worthwhile.
Thanks for the link.
ETA…I ordered the 2MOA. I didn’t see any other option but I wouldn’t want a 6MOA….I can do 6MOA with both eyes open. 😂
Yeah, I ordered a few sets of springs and other stuff, too. Just had a birthday, so I got birthday pricing on some of the things plus free shipping. Win-win.
Mine were delivered today. Yes, they can be turned off manually by holding either the up or down button for 3 seconds. Also, the base that's included has a smaller diameter cross-bolt allowing it to be mounted on Weaver style bases. It also has 10 brightness settings. I haven't mounted them yet but they look like a pretty nice red dot, especially for $100.

Excellent news! I should be getting mine any day now. Thanks again for the hot tip!
Mine came today, too. Battery was packaged separately, different than what some folks have complained about (already installed, and dead). Very nice RDS, just gotta decide what to put it on now.
P.S. One word of advice... Do NOT install the included scope cover if you haven't already mounted the light to your gun! The instructions say absolutely nothing about the proper use of the cover, but it is practically impossible to remove from the RDS if not attached to your gun. Of course I'm NOT speaking from personal experience....

That must be true for all of them. I did the same thing when I got my Burris FF3. I called Burris to see if there was a trick to removing it but I was told I would just have to jam something up in there to pry it loose. Needless to say, my FF3 has a few "battle scars" before it was ever mounted.

Jcon—were you able to get yours off? Dumbass me had to put the cover on. So far I haven’t gotten it off. Help if you have any suggestions. TIA
Lots of sweating--both literal and emotional. I finally flipped it upside down and used the rubber-cushioned handle of some channel locks to push the sight (using a LOT of effort) out of the cover. I'll probably never install that cover again, whether or not the sight is mounted on a gun.
My first from Midway arrived Monday. I just ordered two more from Doug. I was doing some research but cannot figure out exactly what is needed to mount these on a Glock. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Should I just drop it off my way home as that's where I live too lol My middle one is a Sr at Calhoun

Thanks for the offer neighbor. I'll bet the ride to Bethpage is a lot nicer than than the 5:24 to Penn...

I like the looks of the Holosun and I hear great things about them. What did that one cost? I’m waiting for my Sightron to arrive but I’ll probably get a couple more at that price….but if I do I’ll order from Doug.

Will the Sightron STS-2 red dot sight fit the footprint of the Burris Fastfire III sight? See Camera Land has them for $119.99 and will order one if will fit this footprint. Thanks if anyone knows.

Doug showed both the 2 and 6 MOA versions yesterday. I’m only interested in a 2 because like I said….with a 6MOA at the distance I plan to use it I can do that with both eyes open and no sights. 😉

Holoson was $340 no matter where....sorry Doug looked at CL first ):
I wanted....2 MOA......Green dot.....multi dot system...QD attach to Pit rail...shake awake
Long battery life.....solar is a plus (I hope) FDE color too
Hard to find all that in one reflex scope
My budget was $200.......was.......going on the new Ruger
Which is better for turkey hunting in the Sightron STS-2 red dot sight.....the MOA 2 or the 6? Does not both go to a larger/smaller red dot if switch is pushed?
We just got word that we have a shipment of Sightron SRS-2 Reflex Sight Kit - MOA-6 #40021's on the way in that we can continue to offer you at $119.99. We'll have them here and be able to ship to you next week so feel free to place your orders to lock yours in. Thanks
Two came yesterday and five more arrived today. All 2 MOA. I bought one some months ago on sale from Doug for $200 that direct shipped from Sightron and was pretty impressed. They are a nice piece IMO.
Just curious what you guys think is the best option for mounting one of these on a S&W or Ruger double-action revolver:
1. Use the included picatinny adapter and buy a short pic rail such as the Weig-A-Tinny Mini mount 2. Forget the included picatinny adapter and buy a dedicated mount such as the Allchin Mini STS mount
I have both an Allchin and a full-length Weig-A-Tinny on other revolvers and both seem to be well-made, solid mounts. While the Allchin would result in a cleaner look, the Weigand is more versatile (and cheaper).
One more question: If choosing the Allchin, which would look better; stainless (if mounting on a stainless gun) or black, which would blend with the Sightron and would thus look "right" on either a stainless or a blued gun?

I’m a little slow, but grabbed a couple 6 MOA from Doug. One for a turkey shotgun, not sure about the other.
I was lucky enough to get a couple of 2 MOAs from the Midway second shipment. One will go on a Ruger MK II with a Volquerson upper, and again, one extra. Thanks to SU35 there!
Thanks Doug and gents for the heads up! Mucho appreciated.

I just tried mine out this afternoon, gotta say I'm impressed. I put about 150 rounds through my 9mm CZ and it worked flawlessly, sure glad it was the 2 MOA model Have used red dots that were much more expensive and this one truly is a bargain
