never understood why the didn't put it in fish oil which is supposed to be really good for you. I guess it would drive the cost up.
Have some tuna in vegetable oil? Because it would be really disgusting and no one would eat it. I only get the tuna packed in water but I never cook it. Its strictly for sandwiches. Strained tuna, mayo, and sweet relish minimum. Even better with chopped eggs, diced onion, and chopped pickled jalipenos.

Water only. Those processed oils do horrible things in the body. I have done enough damage already in my ignorance to continue after I know better.
Sardines in water will naturally contain less Mercury contamination than Tuna FYI.

Depends on what I’m using the tuna for. Tuna salad…..Bumble Bee chunk white in water which I drain, tuna sauce for spaghetti…..Cento Tonno in pure olive oil.

It took me thirty years to figure out the I couldn't get tuna salad to taste like it did when I was a kid was because all the tuna back then was packed in oil, and almost everything since the 80's is packed in water. Oil ftw.

Oil.
After having it in oil the stuff in the water tastes like schitt.
Sandwiches or on crackers.
If water were the only option I wouldn't buy it. Been years since I had any tuna packed in water.
Squeeze excess oil off just like you do with the wate and make your salad.
Tastes more fresh and even looks more fresh when packed in oil.

Water. We only use it for tuna salad sandwiches or casserole.
However, I likes my sardeenees in Louisiana hot sauce... with a squeeze of lemon... on a Ritz.

Because the water at the cannery or on board the floating cesspool is superb
When it’s a cruise ship- oh noooo!! When it’s a tuna trawler…oh boy, glacier water from Shangrila
