So I have take the barrel off. Do I have to remove the trigger and bolt. Seems like
I should be able to just remove the two long bolts holding the barrel on and pull her out.

Thanks in advance

You know, I appreciate it, I do. But you should watch the video first. I’ve watched it twice.

And even though he removes the bolt, it still answer the question.

I found this, and several others but none say whether you have to remove the bolt trigger assembly.

No you do not have to remove them. Just remember some of those pins holding in other stuff like to fall out on their own.

Well no you don’t, but he had a malfunction (squib load or 2) if I remember correctly. In this case I would do a thorough clean and inspection.

I only answered the question asked, without guessing, and NO you do not need to remove bolt/trigger to change barrels.

Ten four!!
I had a feeling the only thing holding it on were the two screws. My interest is solely to clear the barrel and to see if the thing is salvageable. That dang thing is on there.

I’m gonna have to find a way to heat it up.
It’s in there real good.

That answers my question, I sure appreciate it
Thank you!!

You don’t but you should if only to clean the crud out of the receiver. Why would you not? Takes only seconds and will make the whole barrel install more peaceful

Or you could just type NO and stop telling everyone how to do things, like the leftist commies do.

Explain that one to me please.

The extractor fits into the extractor groove on the breech. If you manhandle/twist your barrel you can break the extractor. Happens frequently with Browning atd also

You could lock the bolt back and tape the pins so they dont fall out. But if your that far into it whats another minute or two to remove the rest.

The extractor is in the groove on the breech when the bolt is locked back? Is that what you are saying?

But it isn't required. Apparently you people are too fugging stupid to understand a simple question.

Couldn't you just lock the bolt to the rear rather than removing it to prevent any potential damage to the extractor?
