It's like scrapple, only with potatoes instead of corn meal. The meat is different too. Other than that, exactly the same. It's all just sausage without a casing.

It's kinda weird, eating it out of a can....but it's okay.
TOO damn much salt though.

Love the stuff. It is saltier than a cheated whore though.
Every once in a while I’ll make some homemade hash out of whatever left over meat is in the fridge. Usually pretty good.

Only better to me is the roast beef hash from Hormel. I always have 3-4 cans of each. Half dozen eggs and a side, well the whole can of cold pork & beans. Good eating.

I just discovered the hormel canned stuff a year or two ago. I was looking for canned food options for home food storage that packed a lot of calories and fat in a can. We bought a can first to try and everyone liked it fried crisp with a fried egg on top.
I went back and but 2 or 3 cases for the food storage but I need to go buy more because we've already used up our supply. The kids request it every other week or so. I'll make some homemade this year with the ST Patty's day leftovers. The leftover traditionally goes to make ruebins on the panini grill.

Corned beef hash is the perfect meal to lay in a day's worth of energy for whittling sticks down on the shady side of Ye Olde Courthouse. Harrumph, harrumph.....

Love it.
Even pressure can my own version, but truth be told Mary’s is better.
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.

TOO damn much salt though. Ketchup neutralizes the salt. I heard it on here from a low post count member who claims to be a dietician to the stars. Madonna loves corn beef hash. So does Angelina Jolie And all their little adopted niglets too. Plastic spoon outta the can squirt ketchup on as needed

Seems like we used to get it when I was in the army once in a while . Just about the only thing they couldn't screw up and I usually asked for seconds when it was on the menu...
Haven't had it in a while- thanks for the reminder. I'm going to have to pick some up and keep it on the shelf...
