always when i am outside , neighbors are 1/4 - 1/2 mile away , when you live in the country nobody gives a chit what you do , heck i am 10 miles from a small town.i believe it helps keep coyotes ,wolves ,dogs all year long and even bears in summer away somewhat too when you mark/scent your territory.
