Honestly, I’ve never listened to (or watched) Gwen until this thread popped. Lovely gal, with a nice little rasp in her voice. Don’t care much for that song posted by the OP, but might check out some more.
Hoffs is a longtime favorite. She’s 60-something now, and has held up well. Those eyes!
There are so many good and beautiful singers out there now, a feller could go blind (!) trying to watch them all.
A pox on whoever posted Cher videos here! Can’t stand that mega-lib skank.
As a teen - I definitely remember Hoffs/Bangles etc but Gwen and the music of the 90's was the music of my late teens and just Gwen comes out on top for me.
That so-cal female look she had - was perfect and on point for the times. I also admit - I find the female grunge era to be something I enjoy more than a little bit and want back. (I'd put Dolores O'Riordan on the menu too)

All would make the compass point north. Not that Hoffs is somehow not hot/great - just that she's not the soundtrack of my greatest memories and thus, not on my radar.

Don't want to leave out Shirley (I saw more than one "self employed model and dancer" use this song in their "performance art" after paying a heavy cover and 2 drink minimum)
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”
