If an announcement of a new alliance between Iran and Israel would be a ten on the international Richter scale, then an alliance between Saudi and Iran is about a 9.5. They hate each other that much. They’ve been fighting an active proxy war in Yemen for a decade.

The fact that they are now aligned and Syria too, show you how drastically things are shifting. The missteps are huge. There is the last thirty years of us going around and invading who we want, pissing people off needlessly and so on and so forth. There is this insane green energy mess that is 180 degrees opposed to what is good for a country like Saudi that relies on oil revenue. There is the massive spending and devaluation of our dollar, the world reserve currency, that causes economic hardship in all of these countries. There is the loss of any moral superiority we had with our illegal invasions, rampant political and economic corruption, blatantly fraudulent elections, and prosecution of political enemies. And then there is our weakness.

Sure, plenty of political inclusions and yep, its possible something could have been negotiated early on.

But guess what, we are where we are, like it or not, I detest war.... but no way do I support Russia in this.

They dont like bloc confrontation so they invade Ukraine and remove the buffer between them and NATO... some of you buying into that BS!

We should not have let then skate when they invaded Crimea.

All the Russian sympathizers need to leave the US.

Russia is not our friend and long live patriotism.

WE being the Global Enforcement Arm? WE should not provide that service.

We agreed to protect Ukraine in 1994 when we brokered a deal to remove nuclear arms, signed by the UK, the US, Ukraine and Russia. Maybe called the Budapest Memorandum

Ok. Minsk2 was not implemented due to the US removing and then installing <2014> a government in Ukraine that would follow US orders. Seems that these agreements are bound to be broken.

Merkel let the cat out of the bag....the 2014 Minsk Agreement was negotiated in bad faith.

It was simply a ploy to allow Ukraine time to build up their military.

Spoken like a true war monger and neocon...

Burns, you refuse to deal with the realities of the situation. I'm not sure why. But even the mainstream media is more truthful than you.

You really need to get a grip.

My guess is, Russia will use this opportunity to put a major smackdown on what's left of the Ukranian military

Yes, they're bringing in 70 year old tanks to put a major smackdown on the ukes.......

I have been consistanty right and you have been consistanty wrong on all things about the Ukraine invasion.

It's a great example of how confirmation bias drives you to double down with Anti American posts that always prove wrong.

This is the kind of dumschit thinking on display around here.

Guess what, against infantry a 70 year old T-55 is as effective now as it was the day it left the factory. And it’s no more vulnerable to anti-tank missiles than a new T-90m. So if you’re going to use a tank fighting entrenched infantry and it is likely to eventually be lost to an anti-tank missile, it’s better if it is a seventy year old T-55 than a new T-90m.

It’s an example of Russian ingenuity that we would never do because some defense contractor would be afraid it might cause us to order one less brand new fee whiz weapons system. Russia has tens of thousands of Cold War era tanks. May as well put some of them to use where you can. I would be surprised if some of them aren’t drones either. You could convert them to drones nowadays for what amounts to radio shack parts and use them to soak up anti-tank missiles. Leave the crew and the main gun ammo out and it might take half a dozen missiles to make one stop moving.

Keeping 70 year old tanks running will require Russian ingenuity.

LOL.

T-55 is vulnerable to a whole host of old ATMs that can't put a scratch on a modern tank.

Cheap and plentiful RPG-7s will kill it with a single shot.

The Putin Pufters are taking massive amount of copium.

The reports about Russia sending WW2 era tanks to Ukraine are false. Somebody put some footage of T-34 tanks being transported by rail in the internet and said that they were headed to Ukraine. It's some old footage of T-34s being transported to Russia to be used in various monuments and museums.
