As for I S Shaw barrel, it's a step up from factory and its new and they reblued it. Sounds like a win to me.

I agree, I should have never fed the troll in the first place. Dumba$$ has issues.....

Shaw has been great for my past rebarrel jobs and all have been accurate. Most took about 2-3 months. I just got my Mauser back from Shaw, it too is a 7mm RM, went with an 8 twist for heavies and 26” barrel. I’m happy with it, though it’s out for cerakote right now as I want it to be weather resistant.

I think it’s great you did that for your son. He will always remember it.

I got it all together now. Had to sand the hell out of the barrel channel to get her floated, then added a couple coats of tru oil to waterproof it. Then bedded it with Acra Glas from tang to 1 inch of barrel.

We will let the bedding cure for a week, then shoot it next weekend with the aforementioned 150s over H4831 and CCI 250 primers.

The stock shows promise. It needs to go to a professional refinisher.

A review of the invoice shows total cost of $502. They paid return postage.

The obligatory fence post pic showing the Bushnell 3-9x40 Elite 4200. I intended to mount Burris 4.5-14x42 FF II. But it contacted the barrel in these Talley LW lows.

I figured I broke even. A pretty nice stock, with a crappy barrel. The barrel was a lot easier to fix, than to find another stock like this.
