It’s the labor that’s expensive. That too, I imagine. Had gravel break a back window on a Mustang convertible once, years ago. Had a small back window that was real glass. I thought it wouldn't cost much, and rather than use the comprehensive, I'd just get it fixed. After calling around and getting pretty much the same $3500 estimate, I decided to let insurance cover that...
