The most challenging part is knowing the balance between helping them out, and letting them learn lessons on their own.

Going from being their hero when they were younger, to barely getting a bored hello from them as teenagers when I get home.
Sounds needy, I know, but damn, my life has been practically centered around them for 17 years. It's tough to accept the change.
