Hello: Need your help in purchasing an electric bike. I'm looking to buy an electric bike for general use in the areas I hunt. It won't be used too rough. Planning mostly to ride on two track roads or perhaps a trail. Mostly flat land with maybe some gentle rolling topography. If it matters, 6' 200lb. rider. Budget is around $2000 + or -. Any recommendations with durability/well made being of high importance. Thank You. Steve

Bought a Bee Cool Adventurer this spring. Great fun and it came with a free trailer.

eunarau fat tire hd. Has been a good one for me.
hub is less stress on chain and lower torque at low speeds. Center drive regarded as slightly more efficient and better performance but higher maintenance.

Disagree. Hub powered are susceptible to loose spokes constantly. I had to check for loose spoke every time we went out. My Rambo crank power has yet to have a issue after 3 years of use.

Check out Himiway. I have the Pro Cobra(double your budget), but they make less expensive fat tire bikes as well. Most of their bikes have the same battery, and it truly is long range and powerful. I'm 275 pounds and can get mine up to 30 mph, and a max range of 65 miles per charge(with pedal assist). No issues, and I now have 350 miles on it.

Don't even bother with a hub drive system. With a mid drive, you can utilize all of your gears. Great for climbing and for soft ground.

Honestly 2K doesn't get you much of an electric bike. I would recommend going to a bike shop and looking at some of the big names in the industry. They are much better bikes than the Rambos etc. Kona, Giant, Specialized, Trek all have electric bikes that are up to date and built with quality components.

NVHUntr,

What I was 'told' at the bike shop (which sold both), is that hub drives are reputedly a bitch to remove a tire to fix a flat.
