Have you been able to do much with the 760 Carbine I sold you?

I've shot it quite a bit. Took it bear "hunting" in the Adirondacks last fall and probably will again in September. It's become one of my favorite ugly guns. And no, I'm not selling it back to you. grin

Had some super nice wood on it. Too bad it hadn't been well taken care of to preserve that wood.

I'd say this reflex is going to work just fine inside 100. This is at 50. Certainly minute of whitetail.

definitely!!! that is a nice group and it will kill a deer at 150 yards.

i'm going to load up 150gr Speer FN and H322 for my 30 Remington.

i have gotten away from sub minute groups, instead 3 1/2" or less at 100 yards is fine by me.

Good shooting if that's with irons at 100.

Stopped by the "fun store" today and spied an interesting shooter on the rack. 141 Carbine complete with a "climbing Lyman"! Price was okay but the manager made it even better so it came home with me. Not pristine but solid and pretty rare according to what I'm finding online. Now to find some ammo.

That site is awesome. I've never seen the "climbin Lyman" before.

Me either. Pretty cool though.

I sure wish Graf's or Starline would bake another big run of 30 and 32 Remington brass.

My favorite vintage sight. My father had his 64 Winchester set up with one as did his brother on his 141. Those rifles are in this pic taken in the 40s when my dad was home on leave.

I've seen 32 around, loaded. But I haven't seen 30 rem in a long time.

I ran across an article put out in The Remington Society on these 141 carbines and learned some interesting information. Link to article They were made using leftover model 14 barrels. Apparently they didn’t garner much demand so when the barrels ran out they made no more. Estimated production was 150-250 in 4 calibers, majority being.30 Remington. Estimates are between 20-60 made in .32 Rem. making it a fairly rare version of the 141. I contacted the man in the article that collects data on these carbines, he has information on 48 of them, 6 being produced in December of ‘41 along with mine. He also said the Lyman 21 sight for the Remington is quite rare. It’s probably worth more than I gave for the rifle.
You never know what will turn up on the rack, I’m happy. I’ll be happier when I find a bit of ammo.

As a Lefty, I’ve found pumps work well for me. The 760/7600’s are also simple to switch the safety for lefty’s.

Tmitch that climbing lyman is sweet! I have a 141 with the lyman R14 tang peep but that climbing sight would be the cadillac of sights on that style rifle. Cool deal. Congrats.

Don't trade that. It's classic. The police wood is fantastic. I don't have any pump rifles. But I have your rifle's 12 gauge cousin. [Linked Image from i.imgur.com]

It looks like I'm about to become one of you....

Finally won a GB auction for a .243Win 7600 in decent shape. I plan on setting it up for our annual "doe drives".

It will be on it's way to JES to become a .358Win. Found a NOS synthetic stock set on Ebay that should be here FIR/SAT.

Plan is to have the barrel cut down to 19", Cerakote it and then mount a 1.5-5 Leupold in QD mounts.

I'd run out and get a red plaid cruiser, but I think the synthetic furniture and Cerakote will ruin the effect.

Ya. Mebbe. But plaid wool and walnut/gloss pumps go together like peanut butter and jelly.
