My understanding is the purpose of this warrant was to give the government prosecutors the tools to ascertain that it was actually Trump tweeting the things he tweeted, so that he can’t try to pin them on underlings. To that end, the data gathered in the warrant includes the location of the device at the time the tweet was twat.
