Solid projectile CAS type loads or something like snake shot. “Life is life and fun is fun, but it's all so quiet when the goldfish die.”

Wax bullets are used with only primers for propulsion. The unburned powder grains and shredded wadding break balloons at short range just fine, and produce a "pattern" that reduces the need for precise aiming. They use the same type of blanks in Cowboy Mounted Shooting to break balloons. Life is like a purple antelope on a field of tuna fish...
