First deer and rifle was a browning BBR 30-06 wearing a 9 power swift scope. Shot 110 power points. Bought it off my science teacher when I was 10 years old. I made payments on it all summer and through the first couple months of school. Paid 250 bucks for it, i think. (I know, my old man made me shoot the same cartridge as him) busted me good when I was young. Most recent is a 7mm express built on a 700 with a no. 2 shilen stainless.
Sold that 06 in college because I was "really smart" and thought I needed a 220 swift. Miss that old browning.

Think the first deer rifle I bought was a savage 99C in 308. Newest is a 1961 husqvarna 1640 std in 30-06, bought that one for a bit over $300 CDN.

Bought my Rem 700 in 7RM in 1996 when I was hunting rifle zone in northern Michigan. Still have it, but it's been repurposed as my moose rifle.
Now I'm in "shotgun" zone in lower Michigan and bought a Savage Axis in 350 Legend. Looking forward to my first harvest with it this year.

First rifle was a spanish mauser, never been confident enough in it to take it out for deer, bent front sight. First rifle i took a deer with was a 6.5 cm, howa 1500 gameking. Most recent was a West Germany Mark V in .257 weatherby that ive been fighting grouping issues, havent touched it in a year and got it out last night, to discover one of the screws on each side of scope mount was no longer tight, and if i tighted rear up all the way, the bolt wouldn't move. Found the right length and reassembled, will try it out this weekend

First buck was in 1995. Used my Grandma’s custom Rem 660 in .243 shooting 100 gr Nosler Partitions..
Last rifle I purchased (here off the classifieds) is a mostly NIB (box and paperwork included) 1982 model 700 BDL deluxe in .300 Win Mag. I haven’t killed a deer with it yet but I’m sure I will. It will kill elk and moose dead though!

My first deer was downed with a borrowed Winchester back in 1971. One shot through the chest organs at a distance of approximately 75 yards did the job. I'm still a huge fan of 30-30 lever guns. - Sherwood

Ruger M77 30-06 and then Tikka CTR 308, in that order. Dropped a big doe at a lasered 366 yards like she was standing on a trap door.

First deer was with a single shot h&r 12 gauge. First deer with a rifle, after cutting many many lawns, was with a used Rem 700 30/06... Back when the 06' was cool. These days my favorite squeeze is a stainless contender carbine, 16" barrel in 7-30 waters. Crazy light, 4#3oz without scope and perfectly suited to the terrain I hunt. All shots are within 60 yards, no need for a belted magnum here.
