I know a guy who was going to buy surplus cannon powder and recycle it. But the .gov now just has it burnt in place.

Vista Outdoors says that ammo prices will spike due to a World Wide Shortage of powder.
“Vice President of Sales Brett Nelson stated, “Due to world events, our suppliers have notified us of unprecedented demand for and an anticipated global shortage of gunpowder, and thus has increased our prices substantially.”
Hoard Away, it’s the only Way. The correct word is "soar", not "sore" .. but with the pain it inflicts on my wallet, "sore" is not as wrong as it should.

Just checked ammoseek and Aguila .22LR is going for 2.5 cents per round, that's the lowest I've seen any .22 ammo in years. Good 9mm ammo, S&B, can be had for 18 cents per round - $9.02 per box of 50.
Good time to play yer fiddle in the sunshine, boys, the winter ain't never comin'... And when the brown & stinky hits the whirling blades the whining and accusations will begin, like the powder I bought four years ago shoulda been left for those who’ll need it in 2024……..

Reviews on the ammo are pretty good. I tried to buy some from the Ammoseek websites and the shipping costs showed it was a scam, so be careful.

I cant figure out this powder shortage. one thing is the US is going backwards and entering 3rd world status. after WWII bruce hodgdon found out US was dumping 100's of tons of surplus powder in the ocean. he contacted many people and was able to get 50,000 lbs of powder at 4 cents a lb and started his business selling a lb of 4895 for 75 cents. all told he bought 4.5 million lbs of surplus. now this was after WWII where millions of lbs of powder were burned a year and that was all excess and he didnt buy it all much was still dumped. WTF has happened to this country? We sent our manufacturing to China and Mexico.

No fault of ammoseek, they show best price & shipping ratings. Places like Foundry Outdoors the ones to blacklist. Best Aguila price, but absolutely stupid, rip off shipping.
