Yes. My experience was different than reported above. They took 12 samples. The first one hurt but wasn't so bad. The hurt built with each successive sample. If there had been 13 instead of 12 I would have puked. It was foo-king close as it was. I would just about as soon undergo a root canal without anesthetic. Tom

If your urologist can’t figger it out after a couple he’s hopeless. 12 is just off the chart. I would never ever trust that doc on anything.

12 sample biopsy.
First shot my azz flew off the table and I almost kicked the nurse in the face.
She goes...wow, never seen that before.
I go how many of these you going to take ? She goes 12....phfuuck....
I was 46 at the time and playing 200+ sb games a year.
I said, yeah because most of the patients are 75+, and have no reactions.....
5% of one sample came back bad.

It's not that bad, you'll be out anyway. Some pain and peeing blood for a bit afterwards. The issue will be what they find from the biopsy.

Not done one, but a hunting buddy had several over 3 or 4 years. Blood indications suggested issues, and it took several rounds to hit a positive target.

12 needle or samples is pretty normal, they divide the prostate into four quadrants. four each. Betting PSA was high..
