This is scope designed for low power high fov quick shooting. The ffp is going to suck at 2.5x. And a 10x isn’t really enough power for over 300 where you even need reticle ticks. Verdict = fail Please explain in detail how a feature you don't like but many others want is a fail? If you had even briefly looked at the MK 4 HD product line you would have seen there is a 2.5-10 with SFP reticle. I prefer 2ndFP but others don't. To be fair I don't have any interest in any of the announced MK 4HD offerings but Leupold is damn sure going to sell a s hit load to shooters who like FFP at those prices. you of all people know ffp is a fail for that scope. Will people buy it. Yeah. But most people don’t shoot much or only at a gun range. You know this. Looking at the reticle, it looks like it will show up better than some on low power with FFP. I've killed [bleep] really close on low power with FFP. Not rocket science. I have killed s hit really close with iron sights on a revolver, that does not mean a proper 2ndFP scope won't work better. 1stFP is a compromise at low power. Sure it can work but it's still a compromise. Leupold is smart enough to offer both reticle placements in the 2.5-10 and the 2ndFP is a better choice but the FFP is hardly a fail. 1st is good for young eyes. Not me. 2nd is best for old eyes. Me/ Welcome to my life. Love to shoot long range for a while now. But used to sfp for the first 40 & wondering if I should embrace FFP & switch over. Have a couple ffp & tried them, nah,,, not with my eyes, especially on lower power. If everything is turned wide open, as I do past a few hundred, what does it mater, the dope or the reticle works fine. Or, I've been totally missing it for a few years now.

I've killed [bleep] really close on low power with FFP. Not rocket science. Killed a few deer last season with a SS3-9x on 5x and never wanted for anything else, but I do prefer illuminated on a FFP reticle when in low power in thick woods. Timber is my thing, have done ok without illuminated but it’s nice to hit the illumination and get that nice Christmas tree triangle at low power. Usually I just kill the buck and forget to hit the illumination. 15 yds if I remember correctly , no illumination, heavy timber 4x ffp. Beautiful.. Yeah, that a decent Blacktail in a nice setting. Calvins much smaller and cuter than one would think based only on his posts.

Probably the smartest move they made offering both FFP and SFP in the same models, with matching turrets. Trijicons shortfall in my opinion. No idea why they would offer the lower powered/smaller obj. 2-10x36 with FFP only and the 2.5-15x42 in SFP only. My older mark 4 2.5-8 tracks well but cursed with a Mil reticle and MOA adjustments which is completely retarded. My eyes will only allow 2nd focal plane. 1st ffp reticle is too small until it is almost at max power.

I’m not struggling at all. Retailer sales me an optic that arrives in good shape, they have fulfilled their obligation. If optic has problems after use, I contact the company that provided the warranty. If I have an issue getting a satisfactory response, I contact the retailer to see if they can help or have a contact that can rectify the issue. Pretty simple really. Nobody is struggling with how a repair works. You and JiggloRider are STRUGGLING with a Refund vs Repair for a defective scope. The manufacturer is not going to refund you. LiL Fish claimed her Leupold was defective out of the box. She should get a refund as she claims Leupold can't make a functional scope. Leupold can't repair her shooting or rifles. She is not a good candidate for a repair because her MK 5 works. She STRUGGLES. Instead of getting a refund or selling the MK 5 she is attempting to order more Leupold products. If you are still confused please enter "refund vs repair" in your favorite search engine (Duck Duck Go). I’m so certain that the scope Larry tested also wouldn’t pass Form’s test, I’d bet $10k on it. Any takers? The mini NF fell from a chopper and worked well after but I read that as well. lol 10k for a guy you blow to drop a perfectly good scope on the ground. I have a sledgehammer test that I will put money on. You pathetic fool. Every scope I have run through this test has failed. Laffin’, you catch a lot of sh it, but I’d drink a beer with you.

Evidently I'm broke despite showing me with my Accuracy International AX with S&B and suppressor. Only on the Fire. Buying those rigs would be a fun way to go broke. Buying them would suck, setting them up on a big rabbit warren on an overcast day would be buckets of fun.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Stick a skinny little biitch in this picture The word around the wood cutting industry is that LiL Fish was quite popular at Lumberjack camp. I heard the term "Checking the throating, rock on" came from those days but who really knows.

The only flaw with Form's test is the sample size. Statistically speaking. I'd agree, but I think his mindset is that any one optic off the assembly line should perform so if a single unit fails his test, then that speaks for the QC of the whole model. There should be virtually zero outliers when you are spending quality money on optics. But that's not reality. There are single unit flaws in production. I'd like to see 3 or 4 units of each model tested. Yeah, I'm not willing to buy 4 scopes to send him either, I get that too. I also take his test with a grain of salt overall. The drops are excessive and not the typical wear and tear I expect my gear to see. In other words, if my rife and scope took even a single direct fall onto a hard surface, I'd want to fire a test shot to confirm zero regardless of whether or not it has passed the 'test'. I am obligated to making an ethical shot on game. For those that are hunting extreme conditions, I'd pay closer attention to his findings.
