All the Blackfoot indians need is a big fat full casino.

They could name it "Glacier Gold" and plop it down somewhere between Whitefish and Kalispell.

I was thinking more like off Whitefish Stage road, scarf up one of the last remaining large agricultural tracts out there before they plaster it all with houses.

Them Blackfeet could be just like the 480 members of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community in Minnesota.

Their casino earnings give each adult member $84,000.00 per month, $1.8 million a year!

They'd all be struttin' in tall cotton then..

The Highline would be getting burned up by Indians driving Ferrari's and Maserati's.

I wonder if it is $84,000 a year?

looks like they are doing very well.

Nope. It's $84k a month each, they are the wealthiest Indians in America. The tribes net worth is 2.7 billion.

The Miccosukee's and Seminole Indians bring home more than $84k a year. But they all start off as multimillionaires from their Casino trust savings when they turn 18 anyway.

Yeah...it's not like that I guess.
Never been to it...but the website says it has a restaurant, a hotel and over 300 of the highest paying machines in Montana.

The casino between Havre and Rocky Boy is about dead. Pretty run down by the look of the outside.

The Rez and the investors got took pretty bad on that one.

My point is that it's not a good place to put a full fledge casino. If I were to locate it, I would do it south of Kalispell historic district somewhere between the Montana Club and RDO. Easy to access from the south and the north. Two lane road that isn't as dangerous to turn off and on like it is north of Kalispell because the speed limit is slower, and already in a commercially developed area that won't ruin agriculture country like putting off of Whitefish Stage.

That may be correct, they make a boatload. They are just southwest of the twin cities, easy half hour car ride if that. The Importation of Hmong and the free busing options for seniors of the twin city are what keep things humming.
When born and certified a member of the tribe the moneys for that youth are put in a holding account for the child, controlled by the tribe. When the child turns 18 they can access the account. I’m not sure if the youth get a smaller cut until grown, I do know that the last child I knew of personally who came of age had about 2 million in their tribal account.

And this is why you don't see them waiting tables or sweeping floors in their casinos, probably contributes to them not taking jobs with the local enforcement agencies either.

Most tribes require they get a high school diploma or it's no trust fund for you.

It's been like 30 years since the Eastern Band of Cherokees partnered with Harrah’s Casinos and built their casino in Cherokee NC.

As adults they receive about $1,200.00 a month each now, it's a lesser amount due to being divided between so many.

The youth get their 'Big Money' as they refer to it, upon their 18th birthday with a HS diploma.

Their trust amounts to around $200,000.00 each now but it's issued in three payments, 1st being at 18 years of age, 2nd at 21 and 3rd at 25.

I suppose this keeps an 18 year old from pissing it away too quickly.

With 30 years passing, their have been studied done concerning the impact these funds have had on the individuals and surrounding communities.

Education is up, drug and alcohol addiction is down, mental health and other psychological issues are lower and those living at poverty level and below has dropped drastically.

The surrounding communities have seen more personal bankruptcies and auto theft is higher. These issues aren't nessasarly relative to the native base in the communities.

No, but as JeffA said, put it where the money has easy access to the gambling, restaurants and shows. It would make a ton of money.

Just go to the Town Pump. You can find all you need.

The Town Pump is always there.

The Blackfeet use to make pencils but they bankrupted that business.

I doubt them pencils could spell anything right.
