I owned both of these by the time I was old enough to get a driver's license. I bought the Barracuda first.

First pickup 1948 Ford f-2 4 speed 85 hp flat head V-8 $50 Thomson's junk yard Took a little work but it served me well till I got out of High School.

First Car 1948 Buick Road Master, Straight 8 with a 3 speed Dya-Flow on the tree, like driving a big boat, bought it from a used car dealer $75.00 Bucks, ran great on drip gas and shale oil. Rio7

1978 Camaro Berlinetta with a 350 and a 4 speed. Dark metallic green with gold flake and a tan interior. Got lots of tickets and lots of tail in that car. Oh, to be young again!

1963 Ford Galaxy 500. Navy blue. 352 V8 with only a two barrel, but it would go! Paid $100 for it in 1970 with about 50k on it. Ran it for a year and a half and sold it for $65.

Nice! I liked the short body 67-72 version. They were sexy cars. They lengthened the body starting in 73'. Not nearly as sporty or sexy as the earlier years.

oh, and just one more thing... are you related to Columbo?...

almost ,

Columbo's car is a Peugeot model 403 Grande Luxe Cabriolet (convertible), manufactured in Sochaux, France, by "SA Des Automobiles Peugeot". Different sources identify it as a 1959 or a 1960 -- probably there is one of each, including the original and the stand-in cars.

Mine was a 1962 Ford Country Sedan station wagon.

Had lots of room for ice chests as well as getting folks to the river in the summer.

Put shag carpet and the rear windows had the black velvet treatment with window cutouts.

Darn good stereo, had a 223 6 banger with 3 on the tree, mag wheels and set of duel exhaust.

The color was white top and black lower and had a red interior.

It was a chick magnet. wink grin
