My Granddaughter is doing a paper on American History and asked me this question. Took a while for me to come up with my thoughts.
Here's what I think were things that changed our country to some point since I was born.
1, Aug, 1945 Atomic Bomb dropped
2. May 1945, End of WWII
3 Oct. 1951 Sputnik
4. April, 1961 First man in space
5. Sept. 1963, my war, Vietnam
6. Nov. 1963 Kennedy Assassination
7. July, 1969, Man on the Moon
8. Sept. 2001, 9-11
9. Jan, 2021, an ego maniac tried an insurrection .
10. to be determined.
May have missed some, but these are ones that stand out in my life so far, can't imagine what's going to be her list.

I wish to comment on number 10, currently there is a 3 way tie for worst President...Carter, Obama and Obama proxy Biden. Time will tell.
