Only a liberal would have a problem with business and jobs moving in.

Remember when AOC didn’t want those 5000 jobs in her district because it was “dark money?

Greyghost, any manufacturing plant is good! I am happy they are moving to LaGrange! Why do you bother to post on this forum unless to just Agravate people? No one would be persuaded by your BS.

Let me think, do I want a gun company building a factory 40 miles from me? That will employee several hundred folks or do I want a electric car battery plant? That will probably leave a toxic waste site in a couple years when the electric car markets goes tits up shortly? Hmmm hard decision. I hope they build a dozen more of those plants in your back yard in cuckofornia.

Scott Malone, the economic development director for the city of LaGrange, said Remington has already secured at least one building in the city, and will operate from a combination of new and renovated facilities. He said local governments would offer property tax abatements, plus utility and infrastructure improvements.

Remington could claim various state tax breaks, including an income tax credit allowing it to annually deduct $3,000 per job from state income taxes, up to $12.8 million over five years, as long as workers make at least $28,000 a year. The state will also pay to train workers, but declined to detail the entire incentive package, saying it was not complete yet.

Did you ever stop to consider the City Fathers just might have calculated the cost/benefit ratio.

ILION, N.Y. — Remington began here two centuries ago and generations of workers have turned out rifles and shotguns at the massive firearms factory in the middle of this blue-collar village in the heart of New York’s Mohawk Valley.

Now residents of Ilion are bracing for Remington’s exit, ending an era that began when Eliphalet Remington forged his first rifle barrel nearby in 1816.

The nation’s oldest gun-maker recently announced plans to shutter the factory in the company’s original home early next month, citing the steep cost of running the historic plant.

It’s no a coincidence that California and NY top the lists off states with the most out-migration.

A fellow I know swears that a car salesman told him that if he were to buy an EV, he'd best keep it parked outside.
