We figure the gun cabinets will step back 4-5’ from the fireplace, and they will essentially sit on cabinets, and then shelves outside of those. Past the gun cabinets, we will step back again all the way to the wall, but the shelves will continue all the way across without stepping back. That will create a 4” wide pocket on each side of the gun cabinets. The plan is to put my kudu on one side and my waterbuck on the other. But getting them to fit correctly will take a little work. I don’t think the room will be big enough for elk and moose, but I can put those in my barn. We are planning on knotty alder finished with 1-1 mix of dark and special walnut.
